15.1
Information on Initial Start-up
15.1.1
Notes for the first 50 operating hours
To optimise the life expectancy of the machine, the following points should be observed:
•
Do not work at maximum speed and workload.
•
Always work at the lowest possible speed.
•
Let the engine warm up sufficiently at low temperatures.
•
Change the engine oil after the first few hours of operation.
15.2
Operating instructions
N OTE
•
Before starting the engine, ensure that there are no other persons in the immediate vicinity of
the machine.
•
Before operating the machine, check the travelling direction of the undercarriage. (Front idler
and dozer are at the front of the machine).
•
Avoid driving on a slope and working crossways to the slope.
•
Do not try to break concrete or rocks by swinging the bucket sideways.
•
Also avoid swinging the bucket sideways to move piles of soil.
•
The following must be strictly avoided under all circumstances:
•
Excavation using the gravitational impact of the machine.
•
Compacting of gravel or soil using the dropping action of the bucket.
•
Excavation using the travelling power of the machine.
•
The soil adhering to the bucket must not be removed as described in the following explanation:
Adhering soil can be shaken off when the bucket is being emptied by moving the bucket
out to the maximum stroke of the cylinder. Should this not suffice, swing out the arm as far
as possible and operate the bucket back and forth.
•
Do not hit the dozer with the boom cylinder! Make sure that the boom cylinder does not hit the
dozer when carrying out deep excavation. If necessary swivel the upper structure so that the
dozer is at the back of the machine.
•
Pay attention when pulling in the bucket! When pulling in the bucket (for driving or transporta-
tion) avoid hitting the dozer.
•
Avoid collisions! When moving the machine, pay attention so that the dozer does not collide with
obstructions such as boulders etc. Such impact loads shorten the life of the dozer as well as the
cylinder.
•
Support the machine correctly! When stabilizing the machine with the dozer, Iower the dozer
fully on to the ground.
•
If the water or mud level reaches higher than the top of the crawlers, the swivel bearing, swivel
motor gear and ring gear may be exposed to mud, water and other foreign objects.
•
The machine must be properly pressure washed after each use. Thoroughly clean the area around
the swivel bearing, swivel motor gear and ring gear to remove foreign objects.
15.2.1
Savety devices
Control lever lock
NOTES:
When the machine is not in use or under
supervision, the bucket must be lowered to the
ground and the control levers locked.
•
The control lever lock (1) is located on the right-
hand side of the control panel.
