Additional weights
Depending on the weight of the installed corn-
header, additional weights may be required on the
steering shaft of the harvester.
The dimensions of these additional weights are
specified in the motor vehicle certification of the
combine harvester handbook.
Comply with the certification conditions
for public traffic.
4.4 Cornheader drive
Fig. 17
Cardan shaft drives
The machine is driven by the combine harvester
using a cardan shaft.
Switch off the diesel motor when per-
forming all work on the machine.
Secure the drive shaft guard against revolution.
Replace the damaged protection immediately.
Fig. 18
Gear drive
The drive consists of two different gears on each
side. The bevel gears have different transmission
ratios, with which the corn picker can be adapted to
any type of combine harvester.
The boxes are connected via a cardan shaft.
Before starting up, check the pivoting
range and power take-off length. Ensure
sufficient overlap.

Internal drive
It reduces the use of the combine's self-leveling
system, but allows the operator to fold the corn
head without stepping off the combine to discon-
nect the propshaft.
