7.5 Lubrication plan
Perform the first check before commissioning the cornheader.
Maintenance
Hours
Lubricate the couplings of the picker row.
8
Check the tension of the drive chains.
24
Lubricate the drive shafts or the knuckle joints.
Lubricate the coupling units for the cornheader with internal drive.
8
Make sure there are no oil leaks that could cause damage on roads or pollute the ground.
8
The hydraulic oil must be checked at the beginning of each harvest and may not show the ef-
fects of water or foam.
24
The harvesting chains require a tension check approximately every 24 hours. If the following
problems occur, replace the chains:
• High play between roll and pin
• Excessively rusted chains
• Excessively worn gear wheels or chains
The assembly of new chains must be performed in a practical manner. Check the direction of
the teeth and mount them offset from each other so that the teeth of the chain are exactly in the
middle of the teeth of the left -hand chain.
24
The feeder chains do not normally require lubrication, but for durability and ease of cleaning we
recommend lubricating with a chain spray every 24 working hours.
24
Clean the signs, instruments and augers daily.
24
Lubrication of the components fitted with grease nipples, joints, plug connections and the cou-
plings is required every 24 working hours. If necessary, consult the tables in the spare parts
catalogues, we recommend using multi-purpose grease
24
Check the setting of the snapping rollers at the beginning of the working season or following
faults.

The sides of the auger are driven by a special gearing equipped with sliding joints; daily to sup-
ply it with lubricating oil. Operation is performed manually by pushing the coupling back and
forth several times.
24
The cylinders of the folding mechanism must be checked at least every two years. All seals are
replaced during the overhaul.
