7.5 LANDING GEAR SYSTEM
The main gear consists of a solid monoleaf heat-treated aluminum alloy
spring suspension that eliminates all moving parts and is virtually maintenance
free. The nose gear uses a heavy-duty bungee shock absorber to provide rough
field capabilities. Use care when dropping the nose wheel to the ground to
avoid bouncing. The bungee does not absorb energy like a typical hydraulic
strut.
7.6 SEATS AND SAFETY HARNESS
Side-by-side seating: Seat cushions are removable for cleaning and drying.
Seatbelts are secured to the airframe by a 3-point harness system.
Ventilation is provided by the air deflectors in each door. An exhaust type cabin
heater is installed. Fresh air is heated by an exhaust shroud and ducted to the
pilot’s feet (pull “cabin heat” control for heat).
Incidents involving exhaust gases entering the
heating or ventilation system may result in fatal
accidents due to carbon monoxide poisoning of the
aircraft occupants. Therefore a CO detector is installed
which needs regular maintenance or replacement.
7.7 BAGGAGE COMPARTMENT
Baggage compartment is the inner space provided behind the seat. It may
accommodate up to 18 kg of evenly distributed and properly secured cargo.
When loading baggage, make sure that weight and balance is correct - always
refer to section 6 - Weight & balance
7.8 DOORS, WINDOWS AND EXIT
The two doors are hinged on top and are held open/closed by a gas spring.
The doors are operated by a door handle which latches the doors in closed
position. An additional closing turn knob ensures a close fit of the door at the
leading edge.
