7.1 INTRODUCTION
This Section provides description and operation of the airplane and its
systems.
7.2 AIRFRAME
All-metal construction, single curvature metal skins riveted to stiffeners. The
primary structure, with the exception of the steel tube cage, engine mount, nose
gear, struts and isolated areas, is made of 6061-T6 aluminum sheet metal
riveted to aluminum extrusions with Avex blind rivets. This high strength
aluminum alloy construction provides long life and low maintenance costs
thanks to its durability and corrosion resistance characteristics. Composites are
used on non-structural fairings.
The fuselage is a conventional semi-monocoque structure. A large forward
tilting acrylic door provides easy access from either side. The rear baggage area
is accessible through the cabin.
The wing has a high lift airfoil with full-span fixed leading edge slats,
“Junker
style
” flaperons and Hoerner wing tips to maximize the STOL CH 750’s
effective wingspan. The wings are attached to each side of the cabin frame by
insertion of butt ends of the main spars into the steel cabin frame. The wings
have a left and right wing tank with 45 liter capacity each. Different access
doors at the bottom of the wing ensure ease of maintenance.
7.3 FLIGHT CONTROLS
The STOL CH 750 is equipped with a dual flight Y-control stick. The classic
rudder pedals,
connected to a large-diameter steerable nose wheel for easy of
ground handling, are
equipped with toe-brake hydraulic pedals on the pilot side
.
The pitch trim consists of an electrical servo operating a trim tab on the left
elevator. The trim is controlled by switches
on the left control stick top.
The

switch on the left side of the panel
operates the full span
flaperons
. The STOL CH 750 is equipped with full span flaperons that function
both as flaps and as ailerons. They are mounted from metal attach brackets
and positioned behind and below the trailing edge of the wing so they provide
powerful roll control even after a good portion of the wing has stalled.
