The 4QBSD switches to the selected mode and
displays an image.
When using TOPO mode, opposite
diodes need to have converse polarity.
Example combinations are shown in the images.
The human brain expects an object to be illumi-
nated from the top of the presented
image. Specimens may appear inverted
when illuminated from below. This illumination
can be controlled with the polarity of the diodes.
Therefore, it is recommended to experiment with
different opposite pairs until the required result is
obtained. The setting has to be adjusted for
different kinds of specimen.
