5 Setup and assembly
5.1 Safety instructions for setup and assembly
Depending on the system, the platform or steps can deviate from horizontal to a maxi-
mum of 1.5°.
WARNING

Failure to observe the instructions in the prior chapters may result in injury.
• Observe the sections “General information” and “Safety instructions” before carrying
out any work.

Improper assembly of the product may result in injury.
• Follow the assembly sequence shown in these instructions.
• Install all parts included in the scope of delivery as instructed.
• At least two persons are required to assemble the equipment. Additional persons
may be required for heavy products.
• Use lifting equipment as required to erect the fully or partially assembled products.
Attach the lifting equipment properly to the body of the access steps or to the plat-
form.
• Only self-locking nuts may be used during installation or maintenance.

Injury to persons
Improper assembly of the product may lead to it toppling. This may lead to injuries.
• Always press down the brake lever on the fixed and swivel castors to prevent the
platform from rolling away.
• Set up the product on a level surface.
• Do not climb onto the product when assembling it.

There is a risk of crushing if the product is assembled improperly. This may lead to inju-
ries.
• Always wear personal protective equipment that is appropriate for the job at hand.
• Keep hands and feet clear of the possible danger zones.
