Operation of the Cooking Surface

g Surface

When the cooking zones are switched on,
they may hum briefly. This is a characteristic
of all induction hobs and does not impair
either the function or service life of the appli-
ance.

Operating the hob

The hob is controlled via sensor keys. They react to
gentle touching of the glass with a finger. If you press
the keys for approximately one second, the control
commands are carried out. Each action is confirmed
with a signal tone.
Press the On/Off button.
The control system is activated. "

-

." is shown in the

four displays and the decimal point flashes. All cook-
ing zones are now ready for operation.
The next command must be entered within 10 sec-
onds. If this does not happen, the appliance
switches itself off automatically.

Operating the cooking zones

After you have put the hob into operation with the
On/Off button, you can now activate the cooking
zones within 10 seconds. When this period has
elapsed, the hob is automatically switched off.
1.Press the key corresponding to the required cook-
ing zone. "

0

." is shown in the appropriate display

and the decimal point indicates that the cooking
zone is ready for operation.
2.Select the required heating power from (1-9) with
the keys + or -.

From

0

. you can directly switch to

9

 by pressing the

-

 key.

If, after selecting the heating power, you have not
placed a pan onto the cooking zone,

F

 is flashing  to

point out that there is no pan present.
If you then place the pan on the cooking zone,

F

 dis-

appears and the heating power is displayed: The
cooking zone is now in operation.

The keys + or - have a repeat function. If you
keep them pressed, the required power is
continuously increased or reduced.

You cannot simultaneously press several
cooking zone keys.

Controlling the cooking power

The table below is merely intended as an example.
The power stages which are recommended for cook-
ing in this table depend on the type of pan and also
on the type and volume of the food which is being
prepared.

Switching off a cooking zone

The cooking zone is switched on and the decimal
point which marks the selected cooking zone is dis-
played.

Press the key - in order to turn down the power to 0.
The cooking zone automatically switches itself off
after ten seconds.

How to switch off a cooking zone: Press the
keys + and - simultaneously: "

0

." is auto-

matically displayed.

"

0

." is shown in the corresponding display as long as

the temperature of the cooking zone does not
exceed 60°C.

H

is shown in the display if the residual heat is above

60°C (see "Residual heat display").

Switching off the appliance

The appliance can be switched off at any time with
the Stop/Start button. All cooking zones are
switched off and the displays show a warning of
possible residual heat which is still present.

Safety switch-off

If a pot or a pan, a damp cloth or spilled food covers
several sensor keys for approximately ten seconds,
the safety system automatically switches off the
appliance.
Press the On/Off button to switch back on, see the
section "Putting the cooking field into operation".
