Using the Resizer
The Z3-MVE-40 also supports resizing of the inputs. 4x 1080i channels can be resized to as high as 4x
1280x270 outputs.
(50)
To resize, select “Encoder Resize” for “Operating Mode” at the bottom of any tab:
(51)
If you were just in “Encoder No Resize” mode, save the “Encoder Resize” mode in the z3_config1
preset (or serial_menu preset). After you see the “Save complete” pop-up window, power cycle the
board.
Note
:
If this step is not done, it could result in audio not being encoded. Any time a switch between
Encoder Resize and Encoder No Resize is done, the user should save the setting and do a power cycle.
Note
:
When resizing in “Encoder Resize” mode, only progressive output is supported. For example,
if 1080i is used as an input and resolution is set to D1, the output will be a 720x480 progressive
picture, not an interlaced picture.
(52)
Click on the “CH1” tab. Set “Video Resolution” to “720x480.” This will resize the 1920x1080 input
to D1. In this example Video Bitrate is set to 3Mbps and TS Rate to 4Mbps:
