ADJUSTMENT
LUBRICATION OF CHAIN AND CHAIN BAR
Whenever you refill the fuel tank with fuel you must also top up the level of chain oil in the
chain oil tank. It is recommended to use chain bar oil.
Adequate lubrication of the saw chain is essential at all times to minimise friction with the
chain bar.
Never starve the bar and chain of oil. Running the saw with too little oil will decrease cutting
efficiency, shorten saw chain life, cause rapid dulling of chain, and cause excessive wear
of the bar from overheating. Too little oil is evidenced by smoke, bar discolouration or pitch
build-up.
BEFORE USING A NEW SAW CHAIN OR CHAIN BAR FOR THE FIRST TIME
LIBERALLY LUBRICATE THE SAW CHAIN AND CHAIN BAR BY HAND WITH AN
OIL CAN.
CHAIN BAR OIL
Only use a good quality chain bar oil. Do not use waste or reclaimed oil. This results in
damage to the oil pump, saw chain and chain bar.
