Storage
To have your Snowblower checked or maintained
before storage, consult a Yamaha dealer.
If you conduct the checks and maintenance by your-
self, handle the gasoline carefully and use the following
procedure.
Short-term
If you need to store the Snowblower for more than 3 months,
follow steps 1–22 to make sure it is ready for the next use.
1.
Stop the engine and remove the engine switch key.
Gasoline is a highly volatile and flammable fuel.
When handling gasoline, be sure to observe the
following points.
• Do not smoke while servicing.
Also, never put any other open flames close to
the Snowblower while servicing.
• Before starting the service, discharge any static
electricity on yourself by touching a metal chas-
sis or other metal object.
• When you extract the gasoline from the fuel tank,
place the Snowblower in a well-ventilated loca-
tion and stop the engine.
• Tighten the fuel tank cap securely.
• Should you swallow some gasoline, inhale gaso-
line vapor, or get gasoline in your eyes, seek
immediate medical attention.
• If gasoline spills onto your skin, immediately
wash it off with soap and water.
Change your clothing if any gasoline spills on
them.
• Extract the fuel from the fuel tank. If any fuel
remains in the fuel tank, it may deteriorate and
result in difficulty starting the engine in the next
season.
• If gasoline spills, wipe it up completely using dry
rags.
• Exercise care not to let impurities such as dust
enter the fuel tank.
