Cooling water
Check for a steady flow of water from the cooling water pilot
hole. A continuous flow of water from the cooling water pilot
hole shows that the water pump is pumping water through
the cooling water passages.
TIP:
When the engine is started, there may be a slight delay be-
fore water flows from the cooling water pilot hole.
NOTICE
ECM02251
If water is not flowing out of the cooling water pilot hole
at all times while the engine is running, overheating and
serious damage could occur. Stop the engine and check
whether the cooling water inlet on the lower case or the
cooling water pilot hole is blocked. Consult your
Yamaha dealer if the problem cannot be located and
corrected.

Operating the port, center, and starboard
outboard motors
The outboard motor to be used can be selected using the
main switch and Start/Stop button for that outboard motor.
NOTICE

could enter the exhaust pipe due to the wave action,
causing engine trouble.
To start the engine for the outboard motor you want to use
1.
Turn the main switch to “
” (on) for the outboard motor
you want to use. For information about the main switch
