SECURE THE CARRIER.

• Loosen the two hubs by opening the

red levers.

• Open the inner and outer frames

enough to fit on your tire.  The outer
frame should have the strap rivets
facing up.

• Adjust the support arms in step 6.

Close the red levers once you

find the best fit.

Adjust inner and outer frames.

• Thread inner strap through buckle and pull tight.
• Thread outer strap through buckle and pull tight.

This strap must be placed around the center of the
tire tread so it will not slip off.

• Tie a knot next to the buckles and secure excess

strap.

• Check to see that the inner frame and outer frame

are snug against the tire and the SpareJoe is
sitting level.

Attach inner and outer straps.

IF YOU HAVE A TIRE COVER, REMOVE IT NOW.

Adjust support arms

one at a time.

• Open red lever to loosen hub..
•  Rotate support arm so that it tilts

slightly higher than horizontal.

• Close the red lever making sure

the hubs’ teeth are fully meshed.
It should take some effort to close
the red lever.

LOADING BICYCLES

• To adjust the spacing between the

control blocks, slide the block to
the desired position on the
SpareJoe support arm.

• Place frame into control blocks

and secure with fastener straps.

• The frame can be stabilized in any

number of ways.

Load the heaviest bike first.

Alternate the

direction of the bikes

to avoid interference

between handlebars.

Secure bicycles to upper

and lower frames.

• Always use extra strap to secure

bikes to the carrier.

• Secure the top tubes of the

bicycles to the support arms with
additional strap or cord.

• Cover pedals or sharp edges to

protect car.

• Confirm that the bikes will have

sufficient ground clearance.

Do not allow bicycle tires or straps to rest
close to the exhaust pipe. High
temperatures can melt or damage the tires.

  For added security, after closing

the cam lever tighten the hubcap

by turning it clockwise until it is

hand tight.
