2. Safety Notes

  Installation of the PolluTherm requires

specialist knowledge and should only be
carried out by a person trained for this.

The PolluTherm must be used within the

conditions outlined in Section1.

During installation of the PolluTherm, make

sure that the sleeve or ball valve is correctly
installed, otherwise there is a danger of
scalding due to escaping heating medium.
Therefore, during removal, first close the
shut-off valves.

The brass threads can have sharp edges due

to the production method. Therefore, we
recommend to use protective gloves.

Heat and cooling meters are measurement

devices and must be handled with care. In
order to protect from damage and
contamination, they should only be removed
from the packaging before installation.

If the housing and/or connecting cable shows

any signs of damage, the device must be
taken out of operation and secured to prevent
further operation.

For cleaning, only use a Water moistened

cloth.

Depending on the variants, there is a battery

installed in the device. This must not be
opened with force, come into contact with
water, short-circuited or exposed to
temperatures above 80 °C.

  Discharged batteries, electronic devices or

components that are no longer required must
be disposed of as hazardous waste at
suitable collection points.

If multiple meters are used in a billing unit,

similar types of device shall be used in order
to obtain an accurate calculation of the
consumption.

For devices with main power supply:

The main power supplies (230 V AC or 24 V AC)
must have a 6 A-fuse on the installation side for
safety.

The connection must only be carried

out by an authorized person trained for this.

Furthermore, observe the recognized rules for the
technology and in particular, VDE 0100.

Voltage:

220 ... 240 V AC
or 24 V AC

Frequency:

50/60

Hz

Max. power consumption:

0.5 VA

Cable length:

approx. 1.1 m

3. Tools Required

  Suitable open-end spanner or adjustable

spanner for the connecting bolts or flanged
bolts.

  Philips screwdriver 0.5

3 for terminal

connection block

Allen key, size 3 for wall adapter

  Side cutters for lockwire

  Open-end spanner AF 24 (sleeves)

4. Combination of the Sub-assemblies

A complete measurement unit comprises of three
sub-assemblies:
These are available as a standard set which
includes:

 Flow

sensor

  Calculator unit PolluTherm

  A pair of temperature sensors

Flow sensor:

Size

Output

pulse

qp 0.6 to 6

1 litre/pulse

qp 10 to 60

10 litres/pulse

Calculator:

Input pulses

litre/pulse

  10

litres/pulse

Temperature sensors:

Length

 45

mm

  100

mm

  150

mm

During the installation it must be ensured that the
flow sensor and the calculator have the same
pulse value!
