“Intrinsically safe" protection places increased demands on
planners and installers than the other types of protection.

This is because intrinsic safety is not only the state of a
particular single device itself, but also dependent on:
•
the correct and safe electrical connection of all devices in
an intrinsically safe circuit
•
correct installation regarding the protection of the
intrinsically safe circuit from external energy
•
Only suitable for circuits with rather low power requirements,
typically less then 2W (in our case around 500mW)
