Adjusting Settings While Conferencing
Adjusting the Audio
The two Audio sliders on the Video Conference Center control the microphone sensitivity and
speaker volume. Drag the sliders to the left and right to adjust the audio. To mute the microphone or
speakers, click the round buttons.
t
NOTE: Mute the Mic (microphone) when you Don't want the other participants to hear the sound
in your office. For example, if someone stops in with an important message while You're
conferencing you may want to mute the microphone so everyone else in the conference does not
hear the message.
Getting the Best Video Quality for a Conference
To achieve smooth video motion during the conference, the C-it camera must transmit between 10
and 15 frames of video every second. The frame rate and the frame quality are subject to network
bandwidth you obtain while conferencing. A video frame is just like the individual frames on a strip
of movie film. This is a tremendous amount of data to send over a network, and if the network is
running slowly, the video motion may start to become "jerky" or to get out of synch with the audio
(the sound and lip movements are not synchronized).
If the video is running slowly you may be able to solve the problem by:
o
reducing the size of the video windows
o
reducing image quality
Both of these solutions reduce the amount of data being transmitted which allows the software to
send more frames faster, which, in turn, makes the video run more smoothly.
