
Note:
It is recommended to use “Auto” for any HDD configuration and only use “Manual” if the user
is experiencing problems with “Auto”.
Here are some of the information that needs to be entered if using “Manual” configuration. Please refer
to you HDD manufacturer’s user guide for such information.
Award (Phoenix) BIOS can support 3 HDD modes: CHS, LBA and Large or Auto mode.
Drive A
This option allows you to select the kind of FDD to be installed, including “None”, [360K, 5.25 in],
[1.2M, 5.25 in], [720K, 3.5 in], [1.44M, 3.5 in] and [2.88 M, 3.5 in].
Note:
If the you do not have a FDD installed, select “None”, otherwise select to FDD is that is in-
stalled.
Halt On
This category determines whether or not the computer will stop if an error is detected during powering
up.

Whenever the B IOS detects any error, the system will stop and you will
be prompted.
No Errors
Then system boots will not stop for any errors that my be detected.
All, But Keyboard
The system boot will not stop for a keyboard error; but will stop for all
other errors.
All, But Diskette
The system boot will not stop for a diskette error; but it will stop for all
other errors.
All, But Disk/Key
The system boot will not stop for an keyboard or disk error, but will stop
for all other errors.
