Connectivity options for IBM PC and PC-compatible workstations
To determine the appropriate connectivity option for your IBM
PC or PC-compatible workstation environment, consider the
interface option you use and the data streams to be output by
your software applications.
Interface options
PCs can be connected to a 4890 with a network connection
(Ethernet or other) or in an online configuration using third-party
interface hardware and software.
Ethernet interface
A PC may be connected to a 4890 LPS through an Ethernet local
area network.
