Basic Installation Procedures
12. Before proceeding, double check that the cable you have just
installed connects the positive DC terminal of the inverter to
the disconnect/battery selector switch, fuse holder, and that the
other end of the fuse holder is connected to the positive
terminal of the battery.
NOTICE
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
Tighten the nuts on terminals properly. Loose connections cause excessive
voltage drop and may cause overheated wires and melted insulation.
Do not over-tighten the nut on the DC input terminals. Damage to the DC
input terminals may result. The maximum torque setting is
80 in-lbf (9 N-m)
.
Failure to follow these instructions can damage the unit and/or equipment.
NOTICE
REVERSE POLARITY DAMAGE
Check cable polarity at both the battery and the Freedom X before
making the final DC connection. Positive must be connected to positive;
negative must be connected to negative.
Reversing the positive and negative battery cables will blow a fuse in the
Freedom X and void your warranty.
Failure to follow these instructions can damage the unit and/or equipment.
