INTRODUCTION & XP500.1
FEATURE DESCRIPTION
Congratulations
on choosing this X-PULSE
Digital Mono Subwoofer Amplifier. This excep-
tional car audio amplifier is the result of an
advanced Class-D switching technology so far
never applied in car audio amplification
technology.
Some XP500.1 advantages in short:
■
High Power Output
■
High Damping Factor
■
High Efficiency
■
Enhanced Signal Precision with SODFA
Converter and advanced Comparator
■
Integrated Fan for Switching Power Supply
for increased 2-Ohm stability
■
Low Heat Generation
■
Extremely Compact Dimensions
■
Low Power Consumption
■
Multiple Controlling Options
Digital Switching Technology
The major advantage of the digital amplifier
switching technology incorporated with this
product is of course the virtually loss-free
amplification combined with an exceptionally
high efficiency. The outstanding efficiency
guarantees that over 90% of the electrical
power drawn from the battery - or generated
by the alternator - is actually transformed
directly into amplifier output power and is not
lost in the form of unnecessary waste heat
generation of the amplifier as encountered
with all traditional amplifier switching techno-
logies.
In fact the minimised power ‘wasting’ with
digital amplifier switching technology is defini-
tely a desirable side effect, as conventional
amplifiers also require a certain heatsink area
that is usually increasing proportionally with
the output power capacity of the amplifier.
Therefore - as there is hardly any power loss in
the form of waste heat with digital switiching
technology - it is possible to keep the dimen-
sions of the amplifier housing extremely com-
pact. Sufficient cooling of the high current
drawing power supply is effected via an inte-
grated fan. Basically the compact designing of
digital amplifier dimensions is only limited by
the size of the p.c.b., i.e. the number and
physical dimensions of the actual components
mounted on the p.c.b.
