35. Troubleshooting
General notes
Never remove, bypass or otherwise disable any safety or monitoring equipment. The boiler must only be operated
if it is in perfect technical condition. Any faults and damage with potential impact on safety and which might limit the
safe use of the equipment must be remedied immediately by a qualified contractor. Only replace faulty components
and equipment with original Wolf spare parts.
Faults and warnings are shown in plain text on the display of the control accessories – AM display module or BM2
programming module – and correspond to the messages listed in the following tables.
A warning/fault symbol on the display (symbol: triangle with exclamation mark) indicates an active warning or fault
message. A lock symbol (symbol: lock) indicates that the current fault message has caused a lockout of the boiler.
The duration of the current message is also shown.
Warning messages do not need to be
acknowledged and do not lead directly to the
boiler being switched OFF.
However, the
causes of the warnings can lead to
malfunctions of the boiler / system or faults
and should therefore be repaired by an
expert.
Caution
Faults must only be repaired by qualified
expert personnel.
If a lockout fault
message is acknowledged several times
without fixing the cause of the problem,
this can lead to damage to parts or to the
system.
The control unit automatically acknowledges faults
such as defective temperature sensors or other
sensors if the part concerned has been replaced and
plausible test values have been supplied.
Caution
Procedure for faults:
- Read fault message.
- Determine cause of fault using the table below and remedy it.
- Reset fault with "Fault reset" button or in the contractor menu under "Acknowledge fault". If the fault message
cannot be acknowledged, high temperatures at the heat exchanger might be preventing a reset.
- Check that the system is functioning correctly.
Procedure for warnings:
- Read warning message.
- Determine cause of warning using the table below and remedy it.
- With warnings, there is no need for fault acknowledgement.
- Check that the system is functioning correctly.
Fault history:
A fault history can be called up and the most recent
fault messages displayed in the contractor menu of
the AM display module or BM2 programming module.
