Middle Duct Assembly
The middle duct assembly is secured to the compart-
ment back wall, lower duct assembly and evaporator
fan assembly with screws.
To remove the middle duct assembly, first remove all
cantilever shelves, the fixed glass shelf, upper freezer
basket assembly, icemaker assembly, upper light dif-
fuser, light diffuser brackets and upper duct assembly,
then (See Figure 6-105):
1.
Pull fill tube heater from fill tube.
2.
Extract middle duct assembly mounting screws and
pull duct forward slightly.
3.
Work fill tube heater wires back through plastic
grommet.
4.
Pull grounding wire clip from left flange of middle
duct.
5.
Disconnect icemaker wire harness panel mount
electrical plug from middle duct, then pull the duct
assembly from the compartment.
Fill Tube Heater
To Remove the fill tube heater, first remove all can-
tilever shelves, the fixed glass shelf, upper freezer bas-
ket assembly, icemaker assembly, upper light diffuser,
light diffuser brackets, upper duct assembly and middle
duct assembly, then unplug the fill tube heater and slide
it off of the fill tube. (See Figure 6-106)
Lower Duct Assembly
The lower duct assembly is held in place with screws at
the top and bottom.
To remove the lower duct assembly, first remove all
cantilever shelves, the fixed glass shelf, all freezer bas-
kets, icemaker assembly, upper light diffuser, light dif-
fuser brackets, upper duct assembly and middle duct
assembly, then (See Figure 6-107):
1.
Extract mounting screws a bottom of lower duct
assembly.
2.
Pull top of lower duct assembly forward slightly and
disconnect lower lighting wire leads, then pull lower
duct assembly from compartment.
