both mains-powered electric tools (with mains cable) and batte-
ry-operated tools (without mains cable).
Workplace safety

Keep the working area tidy and ensure that it is properly il-
luminated.
Working in cluttered or poorly lit areas can lead to
accidents.

Do not use the electric tool in explosive atmospheres con-
taining flammable liquids, gases or dusts.
Electric tools
might generate sparks that can ignite dust or vapors.

Keep electric tools away from children and do not operate
them when other persons are standing near you.
When dis-
tracted, you might lose control over the tool.
Electric safety

The power plug of the electric tool must fit properly into the
mains socket. Do not modify the plug in any way. Do not use
adapters to connect earthed electrical tools.

plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.

Avoid contact with earthed objects such as pipes, radia-
tors, cookers and refrigerators.
When your body is in contact
with an earthed device, there is an increased risk of electric

leads that are designed for outdoor use.
