Wöhler DC 100
PRO
Figure 4.3: Use of the foldable Wöhler S-type Pitot tube with temperature
sensor
Caution:
The Wöhler S-type Pitot tube supplies a better useful signal than
a standard Prandtl tube with the same flow velocity. Therefore, it is required
to reduce the Pitot factor from 1.00 to 0.93 in the “Setup” menu in order to
obtain a calibrated display.
The operational flow of a ventilation-loss measurement is indicated in fig. 4.2.
At first, disconnect the Pitot tube hoses from DC 100
PRO
. Select the menu
option “Q vent” to reset the pressure sensor of the device to zero. This action
is indicated by the message “Stab.”. Then connect the Pitot tube to the
DC 100
PRO
, as shown in fig. 4.1, and insert it into the exhaust-gas line.
Caution:
Do not change the position of the device after zeroing it, since its
measuring sensitivity is extremely high.
The display toggles between the flow velocity, measured with the help of
the Pitot tube, and the core temperature of the air flow. You may press the
“Enter” button twice at any time to reset the device to zero. Press the “C I/O”
button to stop the measurement and to accept the current measured values.
This step should be carried out 30 seconds after switching the burner off,
see fig. 4.2.
Caution:
An exhaust-gas temperature of 300 °C must not be exceeded.
The stored measured values (flow velocity and core temperature) are indica-
ted. Press the “C I/O” button if you want to cancel the ventilation-loss mea-
surement.
