4.1 Duplex Receptacle
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures
5. Remove the duplex receptacle attaching screws (E).
6. Pull the receptacle (A) out of the opening in the raceway.
7. Using the screwdriver, loosen the screws holding the wires (F).
8. Note the colors of the wires and their location.
9. Remove the wires from the terminals.
Replacement
1. Replace the color-coded wires (F) at their original terminals.
2. Tighten the terminal screws.
3. Push the receptacle (A) into the raceway.
4. Install the screws (E), and tighten them.
5. Install the insulator (D), if so equipped, and the faceplate (C) onto the
raceway.
6. Install and tighten the screws (B).
7. Remove the out-of-service tags.
8. Turn the circuit breaker ON.
9. Test the receptacle (A) for availability of power.
