6 Description and function
6.1 Product description (fig. 1)
The EC-Drain PD1 is an electronic switchgear with
an integrated microcontroller.
It controls a pump depending on the switching
status of the connected measurement system.
The switchgear can measure the fluid levels by
means of the different measurement systems.
• Level OFF (A): If the level falls below the level set
as Level OFF, the switchgear switches the pump
off after the configured follow-up time has
passed.
• Level ON (B): If the level rises above the level set as
Level ON, the switchgear switches the pump on.
• High water level (C): If the level rises above the
level set as the high water level, the switchgear
triggers the high water alarm. There is an optical
and acoustic signal, as well as a forced switch-on
of the pump. The collective fault signal is active.
An optional rechargeable battery (accessory)
allows for a mains-independent alarm signal,
which signalises the missing mains voltage by
means of a continuous acoustic signal.
Pump faults are registered and evaluated.
The display of the operating states is signalised by
LEDs on the front side. Operation is done via but-
tons on the right side on the housing.
