WILO SE 04/2011
NOTE:
After drawing the threaded cable connection,
check that the cable is securely housed. If the
cable is loosely fit in the threaded cable connec-
tion, replace the seal with the enclosed reducer
seal (enclosure).
• Earth the pump/system according to regulations.
• The terminals are designed for a max. cable cross-
section of 2.5 mm
2
.
• The terminal strip is to be connected as follows:
7.2.1 Mains connection 1~230 V (fig. 4)
Switchgear:
Terminals L1, N, PE
Make the mains connection to terminals L1
(Phase) and N (neutral conductor). The grounding
conductor is connected to the remaining PE ter-
minal.
• 1~230 V + N + PE, 3-core cable (cable must be
provided by the customer).
Pumps:
Terminals 2/T1, 4/T2, PE
The connection of the pumps
on the motor con-
tactor
is direct, via terminals 2/T1 (Phase) and
4/T2 (neutral conductor). The grounding conduc-
tor is connected to the remaining PE terminal.
7.2.2 Mains connection 3~400 V (fig. 5)
Switchgear:
Terminals L1, L2, L3, PE
Make mains connection to terminals L1, L2, L3.
The grounding conductor is connected to the
remaining PE terminal.
• 3~400 V + N + PE, 4-core cable (cable must be
provided by the customer).
• Connect clockwise rotating field to the mains
terminals.
Pumps:
T
erminals 2/T1, 4/T2, 6/T3, PE
The connection of the pumps
on the motor con-
tactor
is direct, to terminals 2/T1, 4/T2 and 6/T3.
The grounding conductor is connected to the
remaining PE terminal.
7.2.3 Signalling and indicator contacts
SSM (terminal 8, 9, 10):
Connection for external collective fault signal,
potential-free changeover contact,
• min. contact load 12 V DC, 10 mA,
• max. contact load 250 V~, 1 A,
e.g. for connecting a horn, flashing light or alarm
switchgear (at potential-free input).
In the case of an alarm, the contact is closed
between terminals 9 and 10 in the event of a volt-
age failure.
DANGER! Danger of explosion!
If float switches are used in potentially explo-
sive areas there is a danger of explosion.
In potentially explosive areas, always use an
ex-rated cut-off relay (accessories) between
the switchgear and the float switches.
GL (terminal 4, 5):
Connection for float switch for switching the
pump.
HW (terminal 6, 7):
Connection for high water float switch, as well as
for forced switch-on of the pump.
WSK (terminal 1, 2, 3):
Connection for the motor protection WSK
(thermal winding contact).
• Terminals 1 and 2: WSK 1,
fault does not require acknowledgement
• Terminals 2 and 3:
WSK 2,
Error must be acknowledged manually
• Apply a jumper (enclosed) for non-switched WSK
input terminals.
After the electric connections are completed, put
the upper part of the housing carefully on the bot-
tom part. Tighten the fixing screws again.
8 Commissioning
WARNING! Risk of injury and material damage!
Improper commissioning can lead to injuries to
persons and damage to the product.
• Commissioning by qualified personnel only!
• Observe the installation and operating instruc-
tions for the pumps and accessories.
It is recommended to have commissioning per-
formed by Wilo's customer service.
• Prior to commissioning the pump system with the
EC-Drain PD1 switchgear, check all settings such
as:
• Type of mains voltage,
• DIP-switch settings and the setting of the nom-
inal pump current (see Section 6.4.3)
• Follow-up time (see 6.4.4).
• High water alarm via dynamic pressure system
(see 6.4.5).
• Connect the mains power supply/switch on the
switchgear.
