West Mountain Radio
Operating Manual
charge-discharge
performs a
Charge Discharge Test
that will cycle between charge and discharge cycles until
completed.
First
is used to indicate if the test will begin with a charge cycle or discharge cycle. The cycles
parameter indicates the number of cycles to complete. A cycle is either a charge or a discharge, so two
cycles will result in both a charge cycle and a discharge cycle. The desired load is specified with
amps
. The
highVoltage
parameter provides a limit to the battery voltage during charging.
The following command-line options can also be used with /test:
/battery, /cutoff (Required), /open, /title, /temperature, /graph, /amplifiers, /unit, /chargeunit, /chargegraph,
/graphcurrent, /chargeignore, /chargerecover, /chargeamphrlimit

Comments
/battery
capacity,
cells,
voltage,
weight,
type
When performing a hands-free test with /test and saving results to a file with /
open, this command sets the battery information. This is only used for informa-
tional purposes and does not affect the test parameters. If this is not specified,
random data may be saved to the file.
Type is battery type, and the following strings are allowed:
•
Alkaline
•
Carbon-Zinc
•
Lead Acid (LiFePO4)
•
Li-ion
•
Li-poly
•
NiCd
•
NiMH
•
Other
Example (4Ah, 6 Cell 13.2V battery, 5.5 pounds):
/battery 4,6,13.2,5.5,”Lead Acid”
/cutoff
voltage
Specify the cutoff voltage. If using a hands-free test, this parameter is required, if
not specified the program will not run a test. The test is completed when the bat
-
tery goes below this voltage
Example:
/test discharge 1.5 /cutoff 10.5
/open
filename
Specify which test results file to open. If a hands-free test mode was initiated with
/test command-line option, then test results are saved to this file when finished.
Example:
/open test.bt2
/title
title
When using /test for hands-free test and saving results to a file specified by /
open, this option sets the title of this set of data when appending to the file. This
parameter is optional. If user does not specify a title, software will use “TEST”.
If title is already used in specified file, test name will be appended with an incre
-
mental number (ex. “TEST 2” will become “TEST 3”).
Example:
/test discharge 1 /open test.bt2 /title “Test XRF200”
/temperature
n
n specifies the temperature in Celsius to stop the test, to prevent test from run
-
ning if external temperature is too high.
All tests support stopping at the specified temperature (n) however, not all tests
support temperature graphing. Temperature will be graphed if the selected test
supports it and saved to file (/open)
