Text editing window
A window in which text is displayed and can be scrolled.
Text editor
The part of the software that allows you to modify text files.
Text file
A file which contains information expressed in text form and whose contents are interpreted as
characters encoded using the ASCII format.
Thumb
A gray box in the scroll bar that indicates the relative position in the text. If you want to move
through the text rapidly you can drag the thumb up and down.
Unicode Font
The Unicode standard is intended to provide a 'unique, universal, and uniform' encoding for
each character in all living languages (plus a few dead ones). One font (WAVECOM Unicode)
is automatically installed on your computer. Other Unicode fonts with are available on the
market.
unlock
To remove the restriction on the use of a disk or a file so that it can be changed, deleted or
renamed.

Utility
Transmission in RTTY or FAX
Wildcard
A character that may be used to represent a sequence of characters in a path name. A common
wildcard character is the asterisk (*). As an example, if you request a listing of *.TXT files in a
particular application, you would see a list of all files ending with the extension TXT.
