Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Hydro-Safe® Filtration System. This system combines three
different technologies to meet your water treatment needs.
FIRST
Model HSFS: The water is filtered through a 0.2-micron high capacity depth filter. This filter
traps suspended particles, cysts, and bacteria.
Model HSFS 5M: The water is filtered through a 5-micron pleated filter, which traps
suspended particles.
Second
The water is treated with activated carbon, which, removes chlorine, organics, and other
objectionable chemicals that can affect the taste and/or smell of the water.
Third
The water is disinfected by the integral UV system. The UV system renders all biological
contaminants inactive.

Warning:

Do not use this product where the water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown
quality.

Do not look at the UV lamp while it is turned on. The intense UV light emitted from
the bulb will burn the eyes and can cause permanent damage.
Note: Avoid touching the sides of the quartz sleeve and UV lamp. Handle from the end
only. Fingerprints will reduce the effectiveness of the UV system.
