damage it or compromise a non-clinical sample’s integrity. The exclamation point symbol and its
associated statement alert you to such risk.

Bottles Prohibited symbol
The Bottles Prohibited symbol alerts you to the risk of equipment damage caused by solvent spills.

Required protection
The Use Eye Protection and Wear Protective Gloves symbols alert you to the requirement for
personal protective equipment. Select appropriate protective equipment according to your
organization’s standard operating procedures.

Warnings that apply to all Waters instruments and
devices
When operating this device, follow standard quality-control procedures and the equipment
guidelines in this section.
Notice:
To avoid damaging the instrument’s case, do not clean it with abrasives or solvents.
Prohibited:
To avoid equipment damage caused by spilled solvent, do not place reservoir
bottles directly atop an instrument or device or on its front ledge. Instead, place the bottles
in the bottle tray, which serves as secondary containment in the event of spills.
Requirement:
Use eye protection when refilling or replacing solvent bottles.
Requirement:
Wear clean, chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when handling samples.
Attention:
Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the party
responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
