Address
Table
The
MAC Address Table
uses MAC addresses to ensure port security.
Static MAC Address
The
Static MAC Address
menu allows you to add a static MAC address. The static
MAC address will remain in the switch's address table, regardless of whether or not the
device is physically connected to the switch. This eliminates the need for the switch to
re-learn a device's MAC address when the disconnected or powered-off device once
again becomes active on the network. You can
add/modify/delete
a static MAC
address.
To add a static MAC address in switch MAC table, follow this procedure:
1.
MAC Address
- enter the MAC address of the port that should permanently
forward traffic, regardless of device activity.
2.
Port No.
– pull down the selection menu to select the port number.
3. Click
Add
to save the configuration.
