Using booster batteries
Booster batteries are used if the carrier batteries are too
flat or cold to start the carrier normally.
CAUTION: Before boost-starting the carrier, shut
it down properly to prevent unexpected machine
movement when the engine starts.
CAUTION: An explosive gas is produced while
batteries are in use or being charged. Keep
flames or sparks away from the battery area.
Make sure that the batteries are charged
in a well-ventilated area.
IMPORTANT: Always disconnect the controller before
using booster batteries, otherwise severe
controller damage could occur.
1. Turn off the carrier main switch and disconnect the
cable between the two carrier batteries (A).
2. Disconnect the power and CAN connection from the
PC.
3. Remove the 15 A power fuse from the controller
battery cable.
4. Connect one end of the positive cable to the positive
terminal of the machine batteries (A), and the other
end to the positive terminal of the booster batteries (B).
5. Connect one end of the negative cable to the negative
terminal of the booster batteries. Connect the other
end of the negative cable to the machine frame, as far
away from the machine batteries as possible.
