3.5 Equipment Condition

1.

Periodically check the general condition of the

winch. Make sure that all nuts and bolts are secure

and that a moveable parts are secured and in their

proper place.

2.

Always inspect the rope as it is pulled out of the

winch. Do not use the machine if the rope is cut,

frayed, worn or knotted. Any problem can result

in early failure and create an unsafe operating

condition. Replace damaged rope before resuming

work.
