USING VOICE AUTHENTICATION CODES
The Voice Authentication Code (VAC) feature allows both voice call
participants to verify in real time that their call is correctly encrypted and
totally secure. To use the feature:
•
Both caller and recipient must push VAC button (A) on the rear of QS1.
•
The VAC voice on each case will speak a code phrase composed of five
characters from the NATO phonetic alphabet (“alpha,” “bravo,” etc.),
corresponding to the unique ID of the call.
•
Caller and recipient should then repeat out loud to each other the
string of characters they heard.
•
If both character strings match, the call is encrypted and secure.
•
If the repeated character strings do not match, this is evidence of
potential call intrusion by a network-based hacker. Call participants
should hang up immediately to initiate a new secure voice call.
