2  Safety

2.1  Intended Use and Improper Use

The Eyesi Surgical Simulator is a virtual reality training simulator for eye surgery. 
Eyesi Surgical can be used to train vitreoretinal and cataract surgery. Eyesi Surgical 
is designed to train techniques, procedures and manual capabilities in preparation 
for surgery on the human eye. Training with the surgery simulator supplements the 
educational process. It is not a substitute for comprehensive training under medi-
cal guidance, and without further training does not qualify users to perform actual 
surgery or to medically treat humans.

Medical or any other application than specified in the product documentation is 
prohibited. Application of any of the simulator parts on humans or animals and ap-
plication of the device in an operating room are prohibited. If the equipment is used 
in a manner not specified by VRmagic, the protection provided by the equipment 
may be impaired.

No patient data is used or stored on the device. No part of the device has contact 
with patients. The device does not make use of disposable pieces which have to be 
replaced. There are no infection control issues related to this device.

2.2  Conformity

The device has been tested and complies with applicable directives and standards. 
The corresponding declarations of conformity and test reports are available on 
request.

2.3  Identification

The model identifier, serial number, and, if applicable, CE/FCC markings can be 
found on the identification plate at the back of the simulator PC. Have model identi-
fier and serial number at hand when contacting a service provider or when ordering 
replacement parts.

2.4  Emissions

Electromagnetic Interference

If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, 
which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encour-
aged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
