R
LOW OIL
WARNING!
Read the safety precautions for maintenance and service in the ”Safety information” chapter be-
fore starting work.

1. Current warning lamp which flashes during an alarm.
2. General warning lamp. "R" means the lamp flashes with a red light (critical fault). "O" means the lamp flashes
with an orange light (less critical fault).
3. Audible warning. Constant sound for critical faults and three short beeps for less critical faults.
4. Text shown in the Tachometer/LCD display together with the alarm.

LOW OIL PRESSURE
Explanation
: Incorrect oil pressure.
Reaction
: Excessive engine noise.
Action
:
• Check the oil level in the engine. Please refer to “Maintenance: Lubrication” to check and top the oil up.
• Check that the oil filter is not blocked. Please refer to “Maintenance: Lubrication system”
• Check that no leakage occurs.
• Contact a Volvo Penta workshop if the fault remains.

WATER IN FUEL
Explanation
: Water in water trap in fuel pre-filter.
Reaction
: No immediate reaction. Could cause serious engine damage.
Action
:
• Stop the engine, do not continue operation with water in the water trap.
• Empty the water trap underneath the fuel pre-filter, please refer to chapter “In case of emergency: Water in fuel”
• Contact a Volvo Penta workshop if the fault remains.

VOLTAGE LOW
Explanation
: The alternator is not charging.
Action
:
• Check the alternator drive belt.
• Check that there is no poor contact/broken wires.
• Check fuses. Replace any blown fuses.
• Contact a Volvo Penta workshop if the fault remains.
