Preparation of tests
• The device is switched on by pressing on/off switch (5).
• The beeper, red LED (3) and vibration motor switch on briefly for self-testing.
• The test area from 50 V to 1000 V is set after switching on. Brief pressing of the on/off switch
(5) sets the sensitivity range from 12 V to 50 V. Voltages from 50 V to 1000 V are also indi-
cated in the range from 12 V to 50 V . If a source of voltage above 50 V is in the vicinity of a
12 V voltage source, the tester will detect the more powerful one.
• The flashing red LED demonstrates readiness.
• The tester is switched off by pressing the on/off switch (5) for 1 second.
• The tester turns off automatically after approx. 3 minutes.
Performing tests
a) Voltage test
• Move the device slowly along the tested object e.g. a cable.
• If the device detects alternative voltage in the 12...50 V mode, the red LED flashes, the motor
vibrates and the tone generator produces a sound signal.
• If the device detects alternative voltage in the 50...1000 V mode, the red LED glows continu-
ously, the motor vibrates and the tone generator produces a sound signal.
• Testing may be influenced by the position of the ground wire in the tested object.
b) Magnetic field tests
• Move the device slowly along the tested object.
• If the device detects a magnetic field, the yellow LED lights up.
c) Torch
• Press the „torch“ button (6) to switch on the torch.
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning the device, switch the product off.
Live components may be exposed if the covers are opened or parts removed
(unless this can be done without tools).
• Do not use scouring, chemical or aggressive cleaning agents such as benzene, alcohol or
such like. These might attack the surface of the device. Furthermore, the fumes are explosive
and hazardous to your health. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdriv-
ers, metal brushes or similar implements for cleaning.
• To clean the device, use a clean, slightly damp, fuzz-free, antistatic cleaning cloth.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household waste.
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
Remove any inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries and dispose of them sepa-
rately from the product.
b) Battery
As the end user, you are required by law (Regulation on Spent Batteries) to return all dead
batteries and accumulators. Disposal in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the
symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The
symbols of the relevant heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (the
marking can be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g. underneath the re-
fuse bin symbol shown on the left).
You can return your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at the official col-
lection points of your community, in our stores, or at places where batteries or rechargeable
batteries are sold.
