• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• Only hold the clamps by their handle. Do not touch active parts.
• Prior to each measurement, check your instrument and the measuring leads for
damage. Never take any measurements if the protecting insulation is defective.
• Always connect the test leads to the testing device before you connect the leads
to the test object.
• When using alligator clips, make sure that no other cables, leads or electronic
components are pinched or even damaged.
• The instrument is only suitable for use in dry interiors. Avoid using the device in a
damp or wet environment.
• Always ensure that the measuring clamps and plugs are perfectly clean. Dirty or
even corroded measuring clips/plugs can lead to an incorrect measurement.
• When using alligator clips, always make sure that they sit cleanly on the leads or
contacts. If the clips no longer have the required strength, this measuring cable
must be exchanged for a new cable of the same design.
• Never exceed the highest permissible voltage values. If the stated values are
exceeded, the product becomes damaged and a fatal hazard exists. (see chapter
Technical data.)
• Store the measurement device and all of its accessories carefully when it is no
longer needed.
GENERAL BATTERY INSTRUCTIONS
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around in the open. There is a risk of
batteries being swallowed by children or pets. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor im-
mediately.
• Acid contact due to leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can burn your
skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire.
There is a risk of explosion.
• Do not recharge standard, non-rechargeable batteries; there is a risk of explosion!
• Please observe correct polarity (note plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the non-rechargea-
ble/rechargeable battery.
Charging the transmitter: For charging, insert the plug of the power adapter provided into the
designated connector “19”. Then, plug the power adapter into a mains socket of 230V.

INSERTING / REPLACING BATTERIES
1. If the LEDs on the receiver are dim or not illuminated at all (the blue operating LED does
not light up when the SCAN button “13” is pressed), the batteries must be replaced.
Furthermore, the rechargeable batteries of the transmitter must be replaced at the end of
their lifetime. You can detect this, if the charging process does not have the desired effect
and the battery indicator “3” continues to flash.
Separate the measuring cables from the instrument to change the batteries.
2. Transmitter: Unscrew the small screw in the plastic cover at the rear of the device using a
cross-tip screwdriver and open the battery compartment.
Receiver: Open the battery compartment on the back of the receiver.
3. Remove the flat battery/rechargeable battery, if necessary, and connect a new battery/
rechargeable battery of the same type (see Technical Data) with the correct polarity to the
battery clip or in the battery compartment.
4. Insert the battery/rechargeable battery carefully into the battery compartment. Please
observe correct polarity (note plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery/rechargeable
battery. Make also sure that no cables are pinched.
5. Carefully close the battery compartment cover again and replace the plastic housing to
protect the instrument against outside influence.
