Configure DP slave
To get access with your master system to a 115U module in the rack, the
slot
number of the module is to be determined and entered to the properties
dialog of this module, during hardware configuration.
Since in some racks 115U modules of 135U/155U may be installed, there is
the possibility to configure these modules. Here you have to preset the rack
periphery address
instead of the slot of the module.
If your module is not listed at the Siemens hardware catalog there is the
possibility to use a substitution module, which corresponds to the I/O area
of your module. With the properties the modules may more be specified by
module type, slot respectively periphery address.
Please regard exclusively digital and analog modules may be configured.
Other types of modules are not supported and may lead to malfunction of
your system!

GSD file is installed.
•
IM 306 DP slave is connected to the DP master.
•
In the Siemens hardware configurator place the modules of the Siemens
S5 rack in the plugged sequence starting with the 1. slot. For this go to
the Siemens hardware catalog, click at
Additional field devices > I/O >
VIPA_306_1XX00 > VIPA 306-1...
at the corresponding DP slave and
pull from the module list the corresponding module to the according slot.
The module is placed at the corresponding slot and is assigned to an
address. Please regard you have to place the modules gap-free in the
hardware configuration

Open the properties dialog by double-clicking the module.

Enter at "Address/ID" the address, by which the module is accessed by
the master system.

Change to "Parameter assignment". Here depending on the module type
you have to enter the
slot
respectively the
periphery address

The "Universal module" at the Siemens hardware configurator is not
supported.
