Peripheral ventilation and extract
Fresh air supply
The extract fan in the fan box of each cogeneration
module takes in fresh air from the technical room
through openings in the floor of the module (Fig. 9).
●
Customer should ensure the availability of
sufficient fresh air in the technical room by taking
suitable measures.
●
The extract air must be conducted freely into the
open. Obstacles, e.g., a separate downstream fan
or restriction of duct section can cause malfunction
of the cogeneration module.
●
The fresh air opening must be located at a
sufficient distance from the exhaust opening.
(Avoid a ventilation short circuit)
●
The minimum room temperature must not all below
+10°C. The maximum ambient temperature is no
higher than 35°C and its average value over a
period of 24 hours is no higher than 30°C.
●
The relative humidity of the air must not exceed
70 % and should be around 50 % in continuous
service.
Required fresh air / extract air flow rate
See page 10 Tab. 4 (block-type thermal power plant
operating parameters)
CAUTION
To ensure proper cooling of the module,
the inlet and outlet air openings must
not be closed. The fresh air must not
contain dust, halogens, etc. and must
not be warm. The fresh air has to be
free of dust, should not contain any
halogens (such as chlorine or fluorine)
and may not be heated up.
Extract air duct
The extract air fan in the fan box of each cogeneration
module conveys the air through a customer-provided
duct into the atmosphere (Fig. 9).
●
Install a floating louver in the extract duct to
prevent backflow of cold air during downtime in the
cold season and a silencer and weather protection
grill.
NOTE
Use a weather protection grill with
sufficient size of openings to prevent
flow noise due to restriction of section
(noise protection). If special noise
requirements apply, install a sound trap
each in the fresh air and extract
systems.

There are three options
you can choose from for
connecting the extract
air duct on the ventilator
housing, due to the
reconstruction of each
wall sheet (8 screws).
