This Automatic Answering feature can also be used for example in the
situation that the recorder is added to a call on the line in conference
mode (3rd party listener).
When one of the lines has "Rings to Answer" set then the display shows
“Answering Machine" permanently. In that case the answering for all
lines can be turned on or off by pressing softkey 4 or numeric 8.
By default the recorder answers all lines using the Notification message.
On the recorder this message file is named MESS340.6 which can be
modified with the PC tool vcFTPAccounts or the webbased Araña
archiving software.
Each line can also have its own Answering Machine message (Voicemail
message). On the recorder these files must be named MESS341.WAV till
MESS348.WAV for line 1 till line 8.
The format of these messages must be G.711 A-Law, 8000 Hz, Mono.
To edit these messages on the recorder itself press: Settings , NOTIF ,
>>> or 1-9.
When e-mail is installed in the Network Settings (both SMTP server and
e-mail address) then by default all answering machine recordings are
send to this e-mail address.
It is also possible that each line has its own e-mail address. This can be
defined in a file on the recorder named EMAIL.TXT.
To edit this e-mail list on the recorder press: Settings , LIST , Settings.
The file EMAIL.TXT can also be edited on the PC using for example
notepad and then must be transferred to the recorder using FTP.
