2. CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING THE VEHICLE
Before connecting the vehicle, make sure that the charging cable and connector are in perfect
condition and show no visible damage.
Connect the electric vehicle to the charger, making sure that the connector is fully inserted into the
plug. This will guarantee good connection of the conductor elements; it will also prevent overheating
and other errors.
If the charger doesn’t have a built-in charging cable, you must use a cable compatible with the charger
and vehicle power points (if you have doubts as to which charging cable you need, ask your installer or
vehicle vendor). In this case you can start by first of all connecting or disconnecting the vehicle
followed by the charger cable, or vice versa.
Never use the charging cable with adapters or extension leads, as doing so could give rise to
dangerous situations.
Most electric vehicles lock the charging cable while they are connected to a charger, or at least while
they are charging. Don’t use force to disconnect the vehicle while it is charging as doing so could be
dangerous. Make sure that the vehicle is no longer charging before trying to remove the charging
cable; if you don’t know how to unlock the cable, consult the vehicle manual.
When you disconnect the charging cable, always store it correctly and protect the connector (if you do
have a charger with a built-in cable, use the connector support supplied with the equipment).
The LITE charger comes with an INDICATOR LIGHT enabling you to check its status according to the
following colour code:
NORMAL STATUS
AVAILABLE (Green)
: The charger is either ready to use, is not connected to a vehicle,
or is connected but hasn’t detected the vehicle because the cable is locked (Consult
the
MANAGING MY CHARGER FROM THE VELTIUM APP – SETTINGS
section of
this USER GUIDE for more information on the Cable Lock Control).
CONNECTED (Blue)
: The charger has detected that the vehicle is connected, but it is
not currently charging. There are two reasons for the charger being in this status:
• A schedule is active and the charger is not currently within the period programmed
for its daily charge.
• The vehicle has no power input: there may be several reasons for this. For
instance, the battery may be full, the vehicle has its own charge schedule, or the
charge has been stopped for technical reasons.
The charger will remain in this status from the time of completing the charge until the
charging cable is disconnected.
CHARGING (Flashing blue)
: The charging process has started and the vehicle battery
is charging.
