Towing another vehicle
Saloon
To open the cover concealing the towing
eye socket on the rear right of the v ehicle:
disengage the cover at the bottom and pull
it off downwards.
The towing eye is located in the bag
containing the vehicle tools in the
compartment on the right-hand side of the
luggage compartment above the w heel
housing. The compartment may be
covered b y a flap
3 : Pull the hand le and
open the flap – see page 179, Fig. 10776 V.
Screw in the towing eye anti-c lock wise as
fa r as it will go and use the wheel bolt key
to tig hten it until it is fully horizontal.
Attac h a tow rope
3 – or better still a tow
rod 3 – to the eye.
Driv e slowly. Do not driv e jerkily. Excessive
tra ctiv e force can dam age the vehicle.
Estate
The towing eye is located on the right-hand
side of the vehic le underbody behind a
flap.
Open flap from below.
