Coolant temperature display
For physical reasons, the engine
temperature gauge show s the coolant
temperature only if the coolant level is
adeq uate.
During operation the system is pressurised.
The temp erature ma y therefore rise briefly
to ov er 100 °C.
Fuel gauge
N ever let the tank run dry!
Diesel engines: The fuel system is d ifficult
to bleed if the tank has b een allowed to run
dry; see page 174.
On account of the fuel remaining in the
tank, the am ount filled may be less than
the specified ta nk capacity.
