Connect a field device (e.g., a PLC/sensor) to the RS232/485 serial port of the device for 
data collection (see details in 

3.1

Connect the terminal end of the DC power connector to the power terminal of the 
device and the round end to the male end of the power cable;

Plug the power adapter to  a DC power outlet that meets the supply voltage 
requirement (5V to 36V) to power on the device.
