Always protect components and boards from ESD, in all phases of the process, by fol-
lowing the general ESD instructions.
8.8. Maintenance
8.8.1. Recommended maintenance
Generally all technical equipment, including Vacon AC Drives, need a minimum level of
case and failure preventive maintenance to continually function properly. To maintain a
trouble free operation of the drive, environmental conditions, as well as load, line
power, process control, etc. have to be within the specifications, determined by the
manufacturer.
If all conditions are as specified by the manufacturer, there is no other concerns, but to
provide a high enough cooling capacity for the power and control circuits. This require-
ment can be met by making sure that the cooling system works properly. The operation
of the cooling fans and the cleanness of the heat sink should be checked once in a
while.
Regular maintenance is recommended to ensure trouble free operation and long life of
the drive. The following things should, at least, be included in the regular maintenance
program.
It is also recommended, as a good service practise for follow up maintenance, that the
counter values, dates and time are always recorded along with the service actions.
