11 Trouble-shooting
Problem Possible cause Solution
The appliance
door opens when
no programme is
running or when a
programme has
finished, even
though it had
been closed. ▪ The appliance door
opens automatically
within 5 minutes to al-
low the washing drum
and door seal to dry
between wash days. ▸ No solution possible.
The programme
takes significantly
longer than indic-
ated. The programme times
given serve only as a
guide. The duration can be
extended by, for example,

▪ Inlet water is very cold.
Heating is extended. ▸ No action is necessary.
▪ Washing detergent
dosage is too high. ▸ Reduce the amount of washing de-
tergent used next time.
▸ Adjust detergent dosage to the wa-
ter hardness.
▪ Too unbalanced a load
during the intermediate
spin. ▸ Follow the trouble-shooting solution
for error message A5 (see page 31).
▪ Flow of inlet water is
low. ▸ No action is necessary.
▪ There are deposits or
fluff build-ups in the
draining system or for-

11.3 Unsatisfactory wash results

White residue on
washing ▪ Despite intensive rins-
ing, badly soluble com-
pounds in the detergent
can be left on the wash-
ing. ▸ Shake out or brush the wash items.
▸ Wash the items again with just a little
washing detergent.
▸ Use a liquid detergent that does not
contain zeolites.
▸ Select the «Black garments» textile
programme.
