Step 4

If you are not transporting a bicycle, position the carrier as shown in fig. 6 and use the straps to secure the
holding mechanism..

• This bicycle carrier has been manufactured with great care. It is designed, assembled and tested in accordance with the

corresponding safety standards.

•  When driving with a load on the roof of your vehicle, remember the increased height and take special care when

entering tunnels, underpasses, garages, car parks, etc.

•  After driving for a short distance, stop to ensure that the load is still secure. Check the holding straps, screws and bolts

for tightness, and re-check at regular intervals throughout your journey.

•  Straps and screws/bolts may show signs of wear over time. If this happens, replace them at once.

• Note that the presence of a bicycle carrier and load will affect the driving and braking performance of your vehicle. Drive

with care and at a lower speed than usual.

• Side-winds, sudden braking, tight bends, high speeds, crests of hills and potholed roads all affect the vehicle’s driving

performance. For this reason, you should slow down and ensure that you keep to the legal speed limit. Do not under any
circumstances exceed 80 mph (130 km/h).

• The manufacturer will accept no liability for loss or damage due to driving at high speeds and/or lack of due care and

attention.

• Check before driving off, and at regular intervals throughout your journey, that the fixing elements and screws are tight,

and that the load is safe and secure.

• Protect any sharp edges on the transported bicycles. This will help prevent damage and injury.

• Do not allow difficult-to-see parts of the load to protrude outside the dimensions of the vehicle.

• Detach the bicycle carrier if it is not being used.

• Detach the bicycle carrier before washing the vehicle.

• Do not cover the bicycles with sheeting or material likely to blow off in high winds.

• This system requires careful assembly, with strict adherence to the fitting and operating instructions. Note that you are

responsible for your own safety and that of third parties whenever you transport items on your vehicle.

• Observe the legislation in force in the country of use.

• Pass on these instructions to any other person who drives the vehicle with the bicycle carrier attached.
