Voice Mail
The UIP300 supports voice mail service. In order to access this feature,
the user’s IP terminal must be connected to the existing voice mail system.
When a new message arrives, the Message Waiting Indication turns on to
notify the user that a new voice mail message is waiting.
To access voice mail:
Press the
Function
key assigned for voice mail or dial the voice mail number
manually. Refer to “Function Key” on page 37 for instructions for assigning a
function key to access voice mail.
The user is connected to the voice mail system and prompted by instructions
to access the their mail box. The Message Waiting Indication remains lit solid
until the UIP300 receives “No Message” indication from the voice mail system.
Redial
Redial records are retained in the gateway system and will be invoked by
sending a pre-assigned DTMF String to the system when the
Redial
key
is pressed.
Mute
Mute can be used during a conversation.
To activate mute:
Press the
Mute
key.
The user’s voice is muted, however, the user can still hear the other parties
participating in the call. The Mute LED goes on to remind the user that their
voice is being muted.
To deactivate mute:
Press the
Mute
key.
Mute is disabled, the Mute LED goes off and the user’s voice can now
be heard.
Hold
To place a call on hold during a conversation:
Press the
Hold
key.
The LED of the line that is put on hold blinks continuously.
To resume the call:
Press the line key for the party on hold.
The Hold indication message disappears and the line LED changes from
blinking to a solid-on indication.
Music on Hold is sent to the holding party from the gateway. If the holding party
disconnects, the telephone stops Music on Hold and the telephone LCD shows
“Call Disconnected”.
